Murder suspect released
Ilias Azimov abducted on 28 July from a temporary accommodation point for refugees was released in the evening on 30 July, an officer of the Human Rights Centre Memorial told Caucasian Knot.
"The investigation has failed to present any facts confirming his involvement in the crimes he was charged with. To my mind, Ilias has just been very lucky. Information about his unlawful detention became widespread. Even the human rights forum in Kislovodsk, Stavropol territory, attended by COE Human Rights Commissioner Alvaro Gil Robles, Russian ombudsman Vladimir Lukin, well-known Russian human rights defenders, Chechen President Alu Alkhanov, and others came to learn about that," the source said.
