Dead people "vote" at presidential election in Southern Russia

At seven polling stations in Rostov-on-Don, observers of one of the presidential candidates were refused registration. Also, many voters vote at home, observers reported. None of these violations gives grounds for canceling the voting results, the head of the "Golos" regional department said.

More than 3 million 182 thousand voters can take part in the voting in the Rostov region. By 12.00 Moscow time, turnout was 25.07%, the press service of the regional election commission reported.

According to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, most voters at the polling station No. 1723 were pensioners.

"I knew whom I was going to vote for, because I watch TV, and I know all the candidates," said Andrei, a pensioner.

Some voters admitted that they knew nothing about the candidates' programs and made the choice intuitively.

"I chose the candidate whose looks I liked the most. I did not read the candidates' program," said the local resident.

"In my opinion, these elections are useless," the young man Valery added.

Meanwhile, a number of violations has been fixed, as reported by the headquarters of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Rostov and the headquarters of one of the candidates for the presidency.

At one of the polling stations, observers are prohibited from moving around. At another one, a local resident saw his long-dead neighbors in the list of voters.

Also, relatives of the inmates at psychoneurological dispensary complain that bedside patients' passports have been unlawfully collected for voting.
