Chechen residents treat awarding Kadyrov's relatives as manifestation of loyalty

On March 8, Ramzan Kadyrov's mother and wife were decorated by the Order of Fatherland's Honour, established only a week ago. Local residents suggest that in this way the Chechen parliament has demonstrated its devotion to the head of the republic.

The Order of Fatherland's Honour is the highest award of the Chechen parliament, an employee of the parliament's office has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Order is awarded "for outstanding achievements in the spheres of economy, science, public health, culture, spiritual and moral upbringing and education, environmental protection, charitable and other social activities for the benefit of residents of Chechnya."

"The Orders were given to Aimani Kadyrova and Medni Kadyrova for outstanding achievements in their charitable and public activities... and human cordiality and mercy," the source has stressed.

Islam, an activist of a local NGO, has noted that the "Grozny" TV Channel, while covering the March 8 celebrations, paid almost all the attention to Kadyrov's family.

Let us remind you that the name of Aimani Kadyrova was given to the mosque, opened in Argun in May 2014. Some residents of Chechnya were unhappy with Kadyrov's decision to name a mosque in honour of his mother.
