Kazim Nurmagomedov arrested for two months

The Kizilyurt City Court has ruled to arrest Kazim Nurmagomedov, the father of a native of Makhachkala, accused of financing terrorists.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 31, Kazim Nurmagomedov was detained in Moscow by law enforcers in police uniform. Later, he was taken to Dagestan.

The session of the above court that considered the issue of the form of Kazim's freedom restriction was held on February 1.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Abdurashid Sheikhov, an advocate, who represents the Kazim Nurmagomedov's interests. "The court has ruled to arrest him for two months; he is suspected of aiding and abetting terrorism. Most likely, this suspicion has to do with Kazim's younger son Marat," said the advocate.

Shamil Nurmagomedov, another Kazim's son, was accused of financing the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court. On January 22, the Moscow District Military Court began considering his case. Shamil Nurmagomedov claims that he had transferred money to his brother Marat to help him to get out from the territory controlled by the IS*. The "Caucasian Knot" published an interview with their father Kazim Nurmagomedov entitled "Bring back alive: From Dagestan to ISIL* to return the son".

*"Islamic State" (IS, ISIL) is a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by court.
