Marik Dudaev killed in South Ossetia

Marik Dudaev, a resident of South Ossetia, released from detention in Georgia in 2013, was shot dead in his native village of Artsev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, 2004, Marik Dudaev was detained in Georgia and on November 29, 2005, the court sentenced him to 23 years of imprisonment on the charges of a number of serious crimes, including the murder of three persons. In June 2013, after long negotiations, Marik Dudaev was released and transferred to the South Ossetian side.

In the evening on January 16, the body of Marik Dudaev with gunshot wounds was found in the building of the former village club in the Artsev village. According to the South Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Marik Dudaev was killed during the feast, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported.

The suspect has fled from the place and has not yet been detained. However, the suspect has been "almost identified." A fellow villager of Marik Dudaev is suspected of his murder, the law enforcement bodies report.
