Tonight, the law enforcement bodies have reported about a special operation in Dagestan, as a result of which two members of the armed underground were killed. The special operation takes place in the forest near the village of Igali in the Gumbet District.

According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), one of the killed suspects has been preliminarily identified as Sharipov, the leader of the so-called "Balakhani" grouping of militants.

He was on the federal wanted list and was suspected of involvement in the bombing in Makhachkala in 2013, when two children were killed, as well as in other terrorist crimes and extortion of money from entrepreneurs.
