Five suspects killed in CTO in Karachay-Cherkessia

Five suspected militants were killed in the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) carried out in the Zelenchuksky District of Karachay-Cherkessia, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.

Today, at 9:30 a.m. Moscow time, the CTO legal regime has been introduced in the mountain-and-forest area of the Zelenchuksky District of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR). The law enforcement bodies have reported that the special operation is being conducted "in order to prevent terrorist actions and minimize their consequences."

No details about the course of the special operation are disclosed. Meanwhile, the number of the people killed during the special operation has already been reported.

"In the course of the CTO conducted in the KChR, five militants were neutralized," reported the NAC as quoted by the TASS.

Today, the KChR has become the scene of the CTO legal regime for the first time since December 24, 2015.
