Rights defenders call on to find kidnappers of Dagestani Imam's son

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has appealed to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan with requests to verify information about an attempt to kidnap a son of Nimatulla Radjabov, the Imam of the Makhachkala Salafi mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 9, Nimatulla Radjabov was informed by officials from the Dagestani MIA that any involvement of policemen in the attempt to kidnap his son was not revealed.

On September 7, in Makhachkala, unidentified people forced an 18-year-old son of the mosque Imam into their car, but the young man managed to escape from them. According to the Imam, the kidnappers were dressed in the police uniforms.

The mosque located in General Omarov Street where Nimatulla Radjabov serves as the Imam is well-known for the fact that its believers are mostly followers of the Salafi concept of Islam, the website of the HRC "Memorial" reports.
