FSB officers detain Dagestani woman after her return from Syria

After Victoria Budaikhanova, a native of Dagestan, had returned with her daughter from Syria, she was detained by law enforcers on suspicion of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF). This has been reported by advocate Sapiyat Magomedova.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 13, 41 people were brought from Syria to Grozny, including women and children. Among them, there were 34 native of various regions of Russia, including Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, and seven citizens of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Victoria Budaikhanova arrived in Grozny from Latakia with her daughter. After her return, she was detained by FSB officers. The woman was taken to Makhachkala, where she was placed to the SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison). On December 8, she was brought to Moscow, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told y advocate Sapiyat Magomedova, who represented the interests of Victoria Budaikhanova.

"She is treated as a suspect. No formal charge has been filed against her. The investigation is being conducted by the FSB of Moscow," the advocate told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Prior to the transfer to Moscow, Victoria Budaikhanova filed a complaint through her advocate to the Dagestani Prosecutor. The woman complained that after her detention she was not informed about the charges brought against her.
