Chechnya resumes publishing "Goch"
In Chechnya, the publication of the independent literary and art magazine "Goch" (Translation), the release of which was stopped several years ago, has been resumed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that that in 2004, in Grozny, the first issue of the literary and art magazine "Goch" was published with translations into the Chechen language of works created by famous Russian and foreign authors. The publication of the magazine has been stopped after the release of 13 issues because of lack of funding.
On December 5, the new issue of the magazine "Goch" was presented at the Press House in Grozny, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"The idea to renew the project was voiced by our poetess Petimat Petirova. At present, she is the editor-in-chief of the magazine. Participants of the presentation have noted the significance of the magazine to enable residents of the region to read works of famous world classic authors in the Chechen language," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official from the Ministry for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information of Chechnya.
The first issue of the updated magazine "Goch" was personally financed by the editor-in-chief. Texts were translated into the Chechen language by the editor-in-chief and her colleagues, Chechen poet and writers. The issue of further financing of the project is still open.
