In Kiev, supporters of Mikhail Saakashvili beat him back from law enforcers

Supporters of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, detained today in Kiev, appeared to be able to pull him out of a law enforcers' car. Mikhail Saakashvili has called on people for a protest against Ukrainian President Poroshenko.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, law enforcers who carried out a search in the Mikhail Saakashvili's apartment in Kiev, have detained him despite protests of the politician's supporters. The former President of Georgia has been detained in the case on aiding and abetting to criminal organizations, the Security Service of Ukraine (known as SBU) reported. Yuri Lutsenko, General Prosecutor of Ukraine, has accused Mikhail Saakashvili of relations with Moscow and supporters of former Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich.

During clashes of the Mikhail Saakashvili's supporters with law enforcers in the centre of Kiev, the supporters of the politician dragged him out of an SBU's car. They used their feet to break the back door of the minivan and got him out, the "Strana.ua" reports.

After his release, Mikhail Saakashvili has addressed the gathered people and said the law enforcers tried to arrest him "on fake accusations of collusion with Russian President Vladimir Putin and in collusion with a Georgian oligarch," the RBC Ukraine reports.

Mikhail Saakashvili has also called on residents of Kiev to come to the streets, gather on Maidan and start "the process to liberate Ukraine of Poroshenko."
