Law enforcers search house of Ingush Imam Khamzat Chumakov

Today, in Ingushetia, law enforcers have carried out a search at the places of Khamzat Chumakov, Imam of the Nasyr-Kort mosque, and his brother. Imam's supporters accused the law enforcement agencies of provocation.

Today, at 3:56 p.m. Moscow time, the report about the search in the Khamzat Chumakov's house has been posted on the Imam's page in Facebook.

"Today, on November 16, 2017, law enforcers carried out a search in the house of our Imam Sheikh Khamzat Chumakov and his brother ... [Law enforcers] would better solve at least one crime committed against our Imam, after which he got a disability," states the message posted on the Facebook page of Imam Khamzat Chumakov.

The message also suggests that "the provocations against the imam are needed by those who want to destabilize the situation in the republic."

Khamzat Chumakov has survived an assassination attempt on September 14, 2010. An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded under his car in Nazran, and as a result, the Imam got his leg amputated. On March 11, 2016, the second attempt on Khamzat Chumakov was carried out in Nazran. Then, his car was blown up, and as a result, four persons were injured.
