Chechen student reports about scholarships for active football fans

In Chechnya, students got increased scholarships for attending all football matches. However, most of the students came to the stadium only for fear of not passing an academic session. This has been reported by a former student from Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that students and teachers from Grozny claimed that on October 13, young people were obliged to attend a match between the football teams of the "Akhmat" FC and the Moscow "Spartak" FC. After the "Akhmat" FC team was defeated in the match, students started to receive threats of being dismissed for failure to attend the stadium.

Chechen students each of whom got a scholarship of about 1500 roubles could receive increased scholarships only for visiting all football matches. This was reported by a young man from Chechnya, who left the republic several years ago.

An increased scholarship for achievements in sports reached about 10,000 roubles, explained the former student who preferred to remain anonymous. "You get an increased scholarship for sports achievements and for visiting football matches, although the second should not happen ...," said the young man as quoted by the "Govorit Moskva" on October 24.
