CIT: nine mercenaries from "Wagner's PMC" killed in Syria

At least nine mercenaries from the private military company known as "Wagner's PMC", including a native of the Volzhsky town in the Volgograd Region, were killed in Syria in August and September. This was reported by the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT). The "Wagner's PMC" attracts people by promises of good earnings, explained residents of the Rostov Region.

On September 28, 12 coffins with dead bodies addressed in the name of an agent of the "Wagner's PMC" were delivered to the Rostov airport, reported a woman, who knew Cossack Roman Zabolotniy, who was executed by militants in Syria. According to participants of the hostilities in Syria, the number of mercenaries killed in September may be "much more", the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

A source has confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the version about involvement of Roman Zabolotniy in the private military company.

People voluntarily go to the private military company, confirmed two members of the Cossack associations in the Rostov Region.

"The main reason is unemployment," said one of the Cossacks.

A 30-year-old resident of Novocherkassk said he talked to young fighters, many of whom "were dreaming of Syria and discussing good earnings there."

Since 2015, agents of private military companies try to recruit Russian citizens involved in the conflict in Ukraine to take part in the war in Syria, reported volunteer Dmitry.

Dmitry has explained he refused, since he has been involved in armed clashed in Ukraine since the summer of 2014 and he "is fighting for the idea."
