IED discovered in Makhachkala

In Makhachkala, law enforcers have discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in the same building in which two IEDs were already found on October 5. This has been reported today by the FSB.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on October 4, in Makhachkala, an area of a former barrel factory located in Peter the Great Avenue was cordoned off after a report about an IED planted there. On the territory of the former factory, law enforcers discovered and defused two incomplete IEDs with striking elements with total capacity of 200 grams of TNT equivalent.

On October 5, during an inspection of the same unfinished building in No. 29 in Peter the Great Avenue, where two IEDs were found, law enforcers discovered another 50-gram IED, reported this morning the FSB Department for Dagestan as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

"The special IED was assembled with elements of a magnet to attach it to a bottom of a car or to a seat in a bus," the "Interfax" quoted a FSB official as reporting.

According to the source, the IED was defused.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Murad Magomedov and Ramazan Magomedov, who reported about an IED discovered by them in the area of the former barrel factory in Makhachkala, were detained by law enforcers. According to the father of one of the detainees, the young people were subjected to torture.
