Zelimkhan Bakaev's mother spreads open appeal to her son

The mother of Chechen singer Zelimkhan Bakaev has addressed her son with a request to return home to save his parents' life. Attempts to find contact with Zelimkhan did not succeed, said his acquaintance.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 24, a video appeared on the Internet, in which Zelimkhan Bakaev admitted he stayed in Germany. Friends of the singer and rights defenders called the video a poorly directed show.

The 26-year-old Zelimkhan Bakaev disappeared on August 8. Friends of the singer suggested that he had been kidnapped.

In her address, Malika Bakaeva expresses her hope that her son is alive and expresses her doubts that he recorded the video himself, without outside help.

The woman has also noted that it was her despair that forced her to make an attempt to get in touch with Zelimkhan through the media.
