Zabolotniy's acquaintance reports delivery 12 mercenaries’ bodies from "Wagner Group" to Rostov-on-Don
Twelve coffins were brought to Rostov Airport with the bodies of the killed fighters of the so-called "Wagner Private Military Company" (WPMC), a female friend of Roman Zabolotniy, who was executed by militants in Syria, has reported today. Zabolotniy was participating in warfare as a mercenary not for the first time, his family friend has told.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Roman Zabolotniy carried out a military mission in Syria, Anatoly Kotlyarov, a Rostov City Duma MP, and a Cossack’s friend had told. Zabolotniy and the second executed Russian Grigory Tsurkanu were contractors of the WPMC; they were captured on September 28 after retreat of Syrian government troops, the “Novaya Gazeta” reported.
According to Victor Vodolatsky, a former Ataman of the Great Don Army and now a State Duma MP, Zabolotniy was executed after his refusal to become a militant.
The number of mercenaries, who left Rostov Region for Syria "can be huge," a former mercenary, an acquaintance of Zabolotniy's father, said on the condition of anonymity.
Prior to Syria, Zabolotniy took part in warfare in Donbass, said Anatoly Kotlyarov. "The motive, as a rule, is not money, but the idea," he has added.
According to his story, Zabolotniy left for Syria after the end of his contract in Donbass. "Now, as far as I know, a mercenary receives 400,000 roubles per month," Mr Kotlyarov said.
The edition named “Arabitoday.com” reports citing a Syrian soldier that after the militants’ attack ten Russian soldiers ran out of ammunition, and they went into hand-to-hand fight with their cold weapons.
