Rostov State Duma member reports execution of a Cossack in Syria

Cossack Roman Zabolotniy, captured by militants in Syria, was executed. This was reported by Anatoly Kotlyarov, a member of the Rostov City Duma. Till present, the information has not been confirmed officially. According to the All-Great Don Cossack Army, Roman Zabolotniy was not a contract officer.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia published a video in which Roman Zabolotniy, a native of the Rostov Region, reported that he and a native of the Moscow Region, Don Cossacks, were captured prisoners in Syria. According to the Russian presidential press secretary, the authorities are looking for more reliable information about the captured prisoners.

"Roman Zabolotniy (Vyun) is executed in Syria. May the peace of God be with the Don Cossack," wrote in his Facebook Anatoly Kotlyarov, the secretary to the board of the regional volunteer public organization "Bratskaya Pomosch" (Brotherly Aid).

Roman Zabolotniy is a member of the Rassvet Cossack Community, which is a part of the Aksai Yurt Community controlled by the All-Great Cossack Army, reported a member of the NGO "All-Great Don Cossack Army".

Roman Zabolotniy is a "not indifferent citizen, an active member of the Cossack community," reported members of the headquarters for the Aksai Yurt Community.

Cossack Roman Zabolotniy was also among the Cossacks who disrupted a meeting of Leonid Volkov, the chief for the Alexei Navalny's office, with supporters of the politician in the Rostov Region, the "Newsru.com" reports.
