Kremlin questions video with Don Cossack captured in Syria
Don Cossacks have identified Roman Zabolotniy in a man who reported to be captured prisoner by militants in Syria. The authorities are looking for more reliable information about the captured prisoners, reported the Russian presidential press secretary.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia published a video in which Roman Zabolotniy, a native of the Rostov Region, presumably a Don Cossack, reported that he and a native of the Moscow Region had been captured prisoner in Syria.
The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported that no Russian soldiers or officers had been captured prisoners. Experts suggest that the people shown on the video may have been members of an individual military campaign.
The man in the video is Roman Zabolotniy, a member of the Rassvet Cossack Community, confirmed the press service for the Don All-Great Army.
According to the spokesperson for the All-Great Don Army, for the last time, the Cossacks saw Roman Zabolotniy two or three weeks ago and they were not aware of his intention to leave for Syria.
