Policeman wounded during CTO in Dagestan

A policeman was wounded in a shootout with alleged militants that broke out in the Babayurt District of Dagestan, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 1, the Babayurt and Kizilyurt Districts were put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime, which was introduced after on September 30 policemen found the body of a killed district policeman in the Kizlyar District. During the CTO, two men were killed, who, according to power agents, were involved in the above murder. Now, the casualties are being identified.

The two alleged militants were killed when policemen, after stopping their car, tried to check documents. Those inside the car opened fire and were shot dead by the policemen, the NAC reports.
