North Ossetia wins Culture and Sport Festival of Caucasian Nations

Athletes from North Ossetia have won the first place in the team event at the Culture and Sport Festival of Caucasian Nations. The second place went to Dagestan and the third to Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 30, the 8th Culture and Sport Festival of Caucasian Nations was opened at the "Spartak" Stadium in Vladikavkaz. The event gathered more than 850 participants. The fair of "Made in the Caucasus" brands was included in the festival programme for the first time.

The national team of North Ossetia has become the best in 10 sports.

"Creative teams and athletes showed the highest skills and represented their regions with dignity," emphasized Odes Baisultanov, First Deputy Minister for Northern Caucasus Affairs in the Russian Federation.

Vyacheslav Bitarov, the leader of North Ossetia, has added that the festival "became a bright event to confirm rich traditions and hospitality of people in Northern Caucasus."

At the fair, North Ossetia presented cold drinks, dairy products, confectionery, natural cosmetics, souvenirs, textiles, as well as traditional Ossetian pies and beer.

For two days, the festival was visited by more than 9000 people, reported the press service of the North-Ossetian leader and government.
