Tatiana Moskalkova announces her intention to meet alleged gays in Chechnya

According to the law enforcement agencies, two residents of Chechnya, mentioned in the publications of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" as dead, are alive. This has been reported by Tatiana Moskalkova, Russia's Commissioner for Human Rights, during her trip to Grozny. Tatiana Moskalkova intends to meet them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tatiana Moskalkova decided to talk personally with Chechen law enforcers and rights defenders during her visit to the region.

On September 19, the Russia's Commissioner for Human Rights also noted that a staff member of her office would stay in the region to check all the case materials and find out the fate of each person mentioned in the publications.

The programme of the Tatiana Moskalkova's visit includes a meeting with the Chairman of the Chechen Supreme Court (SC), the Minister of Internal Affairs for Chechnya. The Russia's Commissioner for Human Rights is also to meet Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. On the final day, the results of the visit will be summarized, and Tatiana Moskalkova will answer the journalists' questions, reports the website of the Chechen leader and government.
