Five persons kidnapped in Chechnya

A son, two daughters, an elder brother and a wife of a son of Abbas Kuzhulov, sentenced on the charge of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF), have been kidnapped by law enforcers in Chechnya. This was reported by a collective statement disseminated in Facebook.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May 2016, the Vedeno District Court sentenced local resident Abbas Kuzhulov to six years of imprisonment on the charge of involvement in an illegal armed formation.

Starting from late August, during the short period of time, unidentified law enforcers took away to some unknown destination five Chechen residents from the same family, reports a statement released in Facebook and signed by seven members of the Independent International Human Rights Group.

According to the statement's authors, in late August, Iles Abbasovich Sultanov, a 28-year-old son of Abbas Kuzhulov, was kidnapped in Grozny, and an older brother and a wife of an Abbas Kuzhulov's son were taken away from their home in Grozny to some unknown destination. And in the first decade of September, in the Vedeno District, unidentified law enforcers kidnapped two daughters of Abbas Kuzhulov, who took care of minor children, noted the statement released in Facebook.

"Thus, during a short period of time, five members of the Kuzhulov family were secretly kidnapped and taken to some unknown destination, including two elderly pensioners and two mothers of minor children," emphasizes the statement posted by Mairbek Taramov, one of its signers, on his Facebook page late in the evening on September 14.
