Grozny teachers ordered to gather people for a rally in support of Myanmar Muslims

Employees of public institutions, students, and other citizens are involved to participate in the today's rally. Teachers of schools were informed about the cancellation of classes because of the rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3, in Makhachkala, about 2000 people came to an action to support Muslims in Myanmar.

In late August, in Myanmar, clashes start to occur between Buddhists and Muslims of the Rohingya people, and more than 400 people were killed.

According to teachers and parents of schoolchildren, in schools, classes were cancelled on the occasion of the rally in Grozny.

The residents of Chechnya sympathize with the Muslims of Myanmar. "It is unclear why the UN and all the other international agencies keep silence? I've heard a rally will be held in Grozny, and I will definitely take part in it," said Sakhib.

His opinion is shared by Apti, a resident of Grozny, who however criticized the idea of the rally. "We should not hold a rally, but stop the massacre," the man said.

On the air of the "Grozny" TV Channel, Chechen Mufti Salakh-Khadji Mezhiev called on believers to take part in the rally. Besides, the call was disseminated among WhatsApp users.

It should be noted that in Chechnya itself, according to Russian rights defenders and independent journalists, human rights are often not observed with the connivance of the local authorities. The number of those who were persecuted recently includes people with non-traditional sexual orientation and relatives of militants.
