On August 17, the "Novaya Gazeta" reported that 162 residents of Chechnya appealed to General Prosecutor Yuri Chaika with a request to punish those who tortured Magomed Taramov and Djamalai Tazbiev.

"My only son ... was 30 years old when he was killed by criminals ... I believe all cases of terrorism are to be eliminated on the Earth," said one of the killed law enforcers' relatives who came to the court building as quoted by the "Chechen Republic Today".

According to Kheda Saratova, a member of the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the Chechen leader, residents of the Chechen village who signed the appeal to the General Prosecutor wrote explanatory letters stating they were misled, the BBC Russian Service reports.
