"Novaya Gazeta": Taramov’s and Tazbiev’s relatives get home beaten

Chechen security forces brought home Salman Taramov and Magomed Tazbiev, relatives of the young people, detained in Chechnya, the “Novaya Gazeta” reports. Taramov and Tazbiev were beaten up, the newspaper notes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Salman Taramov and Magomed Tazbiev, relatives of Magomed Taramov and Djamalai Tazbiev, detained in Chechnya after the attack on Grozny in December 2016, have been urgently summoned today to one of police stations of Chechnya. At 5:28 p.m. Moscow time, Magomed Tazbiev reported about beatings at the police stations.

According to the newspaper, at 7:32 p.m. Moscow time, power agents brought Magomed Tazbiev and Salman Taramov home. Their relatives have confirmed that Magomed and Salman had been beaten up, the edition has noted.

Let us remind you that in Chechnya, the practice of persecuting militants’ relatives is widespread; the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has repeatedly ordered to evict militants’ families from the republic, and demolish their houses. Such measures of collective responsibility continue to be applied in Chechnya, despite the fact that they were banned by the Russian President.
