Employees of "Georgian Railways" go on hunger strike

Today, Vakhtang Tsiskarishvili, Akaki Charelishvili, and Ucha Khvtisiashvili, employees of the "Georgian Railways", have declared a hunger strike.

According to them, the management of the "Georgian Railway" proposed them to move to workplaces 150 kilometres from their houses, and when they refused, they faced warnings of dismissal.

"We worked at the Kakheti railroad. They transferred us to the Marneuli railroad and refused to reimburse our expenses. We decided to go on hunger strike," stated Ucha Khvtisiashvili, one of the hunger-strikers.

According to the protesters, they will not stop the hunger strike until their demands are fulfilled and they are restored at their old workplaces in Kakheti, the "News-Georgia" reports.
