Jurors find seven Ingush residents guilty of attacking law enforcers

In Rostov-on-Don, at the trial, the jury has pronounced a verdict of guilty in the case on involvement of seven Ingush residents in an illegal armed formation (IAF). This is the second trial in the case. Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has recognized five members of the grouping as innocent, and two others guilty in part.

The case was considered against Maskhud Chibiev, Zyaudin Chaniev, Rashid Aushev, Rashid Tsurov, Batyr Tochiev, Sultan Khashtyrov, and Khabula Aushev.

The website of the Prosecutor's Office for Ingushetia reports that, according to the verdict, Khabul Aushev provided shelter for IAF members and stored their weapons.

Rashid Aushev attempted on the life of Dalakov, an inspector from the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in Karabulak, by planting an explosive device on the door of his house.

Zyaudin Chaniev took part in shelling policemen and bombing an explosive device, as a result of which one OMON (riot police) fighter from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) was killed and another was wounded.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Maskhud Chibiev, a resident of the Plievo village, was detained on October 29, 2014. Relatives claimed that he was tortured and forced to defame himself.

On September 4, 2009, relatives of Maskhud Chibiev complained about his kidnapping by law enforcers. Later, Maskhud Chibiev under pressure signed a confession that he protected a Gazel minivan with explosives, which on August 17, 2009, was blown up by a suicide bomber near the Nazran ROVD (District Interior Division), the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" reported.

In October 2014, Zyaudin Chaniev was detained on suspicion of involvement in the "Karabulak" grouping of militants.
