Law enforcers prohibit advocate from visiting detained Ingush resident

On July 30, Khasan Esmurziev was detained after a search in his house. Law enforcers reported on seizure of a pistol and a grenade from the house. For more than a day, an advocate was not allowed visiting the detainee. Family members of Khasan Esmurziev associated his persecution with a conflict that occurred during the preparations for the celebration of the anniversary of the republic's creation.

"During the detention, Khasan asked an investigator why he was being taken to the police. And the investigators replied that Khasan should have not posted a video on the Internet about the conflict that occurred at the Amphitheatre after the funeral on July 8," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Amina, the wife of the detained man.

On that day, the Amphitheatre in the Nasyr-Kort District of Nazran hosted a rehearsal for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the republic's creation. And at the same time, a funeral was held in one of the neighbouring houses. Relatives of the deceased man addressed officials of the Amphitheatre with a request to turn off the music before the end of the funeral prayer and were refused. The participants of the funeral ceremony recorded a video message condemning the incident, said Amina.

According to the woman, her husband did not shoot that video. "Khasan just talked very emotionally to someone from the Amphitheatre and reproached them for not respecting the deceased man," said the Khasan Esmurziev's wife.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Isa Abadiev, a detainee’s advocate, at present, no charge has been filed against his client, and the advocate has still not been allowed visiting him.
