Kadyrov worried about check of Chechen young women's passports in Voronezh

Investigators began to check the lawfulness for the actions of the Voronezh policemen, who on July 27 demanded from two Chechen women to produce their documents and who detained their father and brother. The leader of Chechnya has also requested the Voronezh regional authorities to react to the incident.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has commented on the situation on his page in a social network.

"The only reason for the 'passport control' carried out by young people with typical athletic appearance is the nationality of the female citizens of Russia who have been living in Voronezh for a long time. Another reason is in the fact that they are wearing headscarves," he said.

The incident occurred on July 27, the "Bloknot-Volgograd" reports.

Today, the leader of Chechnya has reported that he had discussed the incident with Alexei Gordeev, Governor of the Voronezh Region.

"He talked about the incident with regret. According to him, the regional authorities make all efforts to preserve the interethnic peace," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his page on Instagram.

According to the Chechen leader, detained Ruslan Abdulaev was released, and law enforcers apologized to the natives of Chechnya.

A video posted on the Internet shows how people in civilian clothes accompanied by a policeman demand from two women and a girl with children to produce documents. The women point to the absence of reasons for such a demand. Two men interfere in the conflict, and during their detention, one of them was put on the ground and his hands were wrung.
