Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev's murderers stay unpunished for four years already

The day of July 9 marks four years passed since the murder of Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Till present, the murderers of the journalist have not been found, and that fact indicates the investigators' unwillingness to solve the crime. This opinion was voiced by relatives and friends of Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev.

On November 27, 2015, the investigation was once again suspended. Meanwhile, in Dagestan, courts refused to grant complaints about the suspension of the investigation into the case.

Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev worked as a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent for more than 7 years, and he highlighted urgent topics.

Gadjimurad Saghitov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Novoe Delo", has note that "in the republic, people still remember Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev."

The contest named after Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev "reminds of professionals who gave their lives for their idea," Gadjimurad Saghitov has added.

According to him, the local authorities "continue to openly violate the rights of journalists."

Dagestan remembers murdered journalists, noted Magomed Magomedov, a political observer of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft).

Meanwhile, according to him, "the republic faces a kind of paradox." Journalists "more and more often cover urgent topics and reveal facts of corruption, but the state shows almost no reaction."

Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev became the second journalist of the "Caucasian Knot", killed in Northern Caucasus.
