Farmer Oleg Petrov released on bail of 500,000 roubles
The Caucasian District Court of the Krasnodar Territory has mitigated the pre-trial restriction measure with regard to Oleg Petrov, a Kuban farmer, an activist of the movement "Polite Farmers" and replaced his house arrest with release on bail.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 28, the so-called "tractor march" to Moscow was to begin, by which Kuban farmers wanted to draw attention to the problem of raiders' seizures in the Krasnodar Territory. After the disruption of the action, the house of Oleg Petrov was searched, and he himself was detained and then arrested. Oleg Petrov is suspected of fraud on a particularly large scale.
On July 7, at a motion filed by the defence, the Caucasian District Court changed the pre-trial restriction measure to Oleg Petrov and replaced his house arrest with release on bail amounting to 500,000 roubles. The Prosecutor's Office did not object to changing the pre-trial restriction measure, reports the website of the All-Russian Public Movement "For Human Rights".
Oleg Petrov spent about two months in custody and another month and a half under house arrest.
