Power agents state prevention of Northern Caucasus resident's departure to Syria

In North Ossetia, border guards detained a resident of one of the republics of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), who intended to go to Syria to take part in warfare for terrorists.

According to the press service of the FSB's Frontier Department for North Ossetia, the man was detained at the "Verkhniy Lars" checkpoint at his entrance to Georgia.

Power agents assert that the 40-year-old man wanted to join the militants of the "Islamic State", banned in Russia, the "Interfax-South" reports.

"According to his story, most of all he was attracted by the promise of forgiveness of all his past sins, if a Muslim dies at battle. Without bothering himself with deep knowledge of religious dogmas, the man diligently saved enough money for the trip and decided to go for the salvation of his soul," the "Interfax-South" quotes the press service.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on June 23 the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported a start of inquiry into the case of three residents of Dagestan, who transferred more than 100,000 roubles to Syrian militants.
