Following the results of the All-Russian the Nogai People's Congress held in the aul (village) of Terekli-Mekteb, its participants have adopted a resolution and an appeal to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. Delegates of the Nogai People's Congress claimed the reluctance of the Dagestani authorities to solve the land problem in the Nogai District and noted the need for federal authorities to interfere in the situation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 14, organizers of the Nogai People's Congress announced an aggravation of the land problem connected with the plans of the Dagestani authorities to assign the status of towns and villages to settlements located on the lands of distant-pasture cattle tending. According to residents of the Nogai District of Dagestan, this is the way to attack the territory of the compact residence of the Nogai people.

The delegates demand to carry out an inventory and audit of land of distant-pasture cattle tending in the territory of the Nogai District and all illegal settlements.

According to Temirkhan Orazbaev, a lawyer and public figure, in the Nogai District, up to 70% of the land does not belong to the District.

The Nogai people have to leave the land in search for earnings, reported Agaruv Kulunchakova, a teacher of the secondary school of the Kalinin aul in the Nogai District of Dagestan.

Earlier, the Nogai people have also voiced the land problem at the congresses, noted Murat Avezov, a member of the Union of Russian Writers.

According to Koshmanbet Mamaev, the leader of the village of Karagas of the Nogai District of Dagestan, local residents are supported by the Nogai people from all over the world.
