Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva wounded at attempt in Kiev

Adam Osmaev, a native of Grozny, and his wife Amina Okueva were hospitalized to a Kiev hospital with heavy gunshot wounds, said Artyom Shevchenko, the head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

As reported earlier by the "Caucasian Knot", Adam Osmaev was declared wanted by Russian authorities on suspicion of plotting terror acts, and detained in Odessa on February 4, 2012. According to Moscow's version, Osmaev was preparing an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin. He himself denied the guilt and claimed being tortured.

According to the above Mr Shevchenko, an attempt on Adam Osmaev, the commander of the "Johar Dudaev battalion", and his wife Amina Okueva was committed in Kiev tonight.

According to a law enforcement source, Osmaev and his wife "agreed to be interviewed by an alleged French journalist from Le Monde." At the meeting, a man, who had introduced himself as a journalist, took out a Glock pistol and shot Osmaev in the chest. After that, his wife after that shot four times at the attacker.

Let us remind you that Osmaev headed the "Johar Dudaev battalion", created by a former Chechen field commander and fighting in the east of Ukraine as part of the forces of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), in February 2015. His wife Amina Okueva is the press officer of the battalion.
