During the week of May 22-28, 2017, two persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On May 26, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the village of Orota of the Khunzakh District. Law enforcers searched for militants and their accomplices. At 9:00 p.m. Moscow time of the same day, the CTO legal regime was lifted. The outcome of the operation has not been reported.

Attacks on civilians

On May 21, in the territory of a car service station in Fizkulturnaya Street in the Ingush city of Malgobek, unidentified people shelled two local residents of 25 and 26 years old. The victims are a brother and a cousin of Magomed Bekbuzarov, who was killed in the attack on a checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) on May 12. The victims were brought to a hospital: one with severe and the other with light injuries.

Kidnappings

On May 22, Arsen Akhmedov, a resident of Makhachkala, whose kidnapping was claimed by his relatives on May 18, returned home. Everything is in order with him, and he "does not want too much publicity," relatives report.
