Five residents of Ingushetia accused of links with militants

The case against five persons, who made weapon hideouts in the Nazran District of Ingushetia, has been sent to the court, said the Prosecutor's Office.

Since the summer of 2015, Umar and Djabrail Gagiev, and Amirkhan, Movly and Khasan Sapraliev were members of the Ekazhevo Jamaat. In May 2016, they were "exposed", the Ingush Prosecutor's Office has stated.

According to the Office, the grouping's hideouts with firearms, ammunition and explosive devices were found.

The five residents of the village of Ekazhevo are accused of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) and illegal circulation of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices; they may face imprisonment for up to ten years.
