In Rostov-on-Don, action against Putin’s nomination for new term was 150 persons strong

Today, Rostov-on-Don has joined the action "Nadoel!" (Sick and Tired), organized by "The Open Russia" network movement, held in several cities of the country.

The Rostov protesters have opposed Vladimir Putin’s nomination for another presidential term and voiced their protest against "the long-term corruption in bodies of state power, embezzlement of the state budget and persecution of civil activists."

Boris Papayan, an activist of the PARNAS Party, stated in his speech at the action that "President Putin's policy has failed in all areas: in medicine, education, industry and agriculture." He expressed his indignation about the blocking by the Cossacks of the city office of Alexei Navalny on April 8 and the attempt on Natalia Fyodorova, an activist of the “Yabloko” Party in Moscow, treating these incidents as "manifestation of the repressive system."

Evgeny Bessonov, a Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), called on the opposition to consolidate and help each other at elections by taking part in and monitoring them.

After each speech, the attendees demanded the resignation of Russian President and Government by chanting: "Putin, it's time to leave!" and "Putin, we’re sick and tired of you!"
