KBR’s truckers state absence of dialogue with authorities

The authorities would not start dialogue with the protesters against the “Platon” system, said the truckers of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), noting that they are ready to protest again.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27 an all-Russian protest rally of truckers began, which was supported by truckers from the KBR.

The action is held by about one hundred drivers from different localities, said Nikolai Naumov, the Chairman of the public organization “Union of Drivers of Kabardino-Balkaria”.

The protesters call up each other and their colleagues from other regions, awaiting the decisions of the authorities.

As noted by Mr Naumov, people are outraged by the fact that the money collected by the "Platon" system goes not to the state, but to a specific oligarch.

The driver Nikolai Terekhov said that with the introduction of excises on fuel, the company's revenues dropped; besides, dispatchers take away part of the profits.

The protest action affects the truckers’ financial status; however, a bankruptcy is their permanent threat, said the protesters.
