NAC confirms killing of Ilyas Khalilov in Dagestan

One of the militants killed on April 11 in Dagestan has been preliminary identified as Ilyas Khalilov, who was involved in numerous terrorist crimes. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, agents of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were shelled in the Kumtorkalin District when they tried to stop a passenger car for inspection. Three attackers were killed. One of the killed suspects was identified as Ilyas Khalilov, the leader of the Makhachkala grouping. This was reported on the other day by a source from the law enforcement bodies.

Today, the information has been officially confirmed by the law enforcement bodies.

"Ilyas Khalilov, the leader of the grouping, has been preliminarily identified among the criminals neutralized on the federal highway near the village of Tyube in the Kumtorkalin District of Dagestan," reports the NAC.

According to the law enforcement bodies, Ilyas Khalilov was involved in numerous terrorist crimes, including the murder of two residents of the village of Talga, the attempt on law enforcers in the village of Karamakhi, and the extortion of large amounts of money from entrepreneurs to finance terrorist activities, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
