Sochi resident Marina Djandjgava sentenced for SMS sent to Moscow

Marina Djandjgava, a resident of Adler, sentenced on the charge of treason after she had sent an SMS to Georgia, was sent to Moscow from a penal colony in Vologda. This was reported by advocate Ivan Pavlov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2016, advocates from the "Team 29", who represented the interests of Oksana Sevastidi, sentenced for treason, announced their intention to deal with similar cases instituted against other residents of Kuban. At least nine other people, including Marina Djandjgava, were also sentenced on the charge of treason.

On March 7, the Russian President signed a decree on pardoning Oksana Sevastidi. The defence insists on her complete innocence and announces the decision to seek a reconsideration of the verdict.

Ivan Pavlov has noted that earlier, "Aniko Kesyan, one more his client, sentenced in the case of SMS concerning treason, was sent to some unknown destination." The advocate has admitted that relocations of his clients "are related to the actions of the defence," the "Interfax" reports.

Marina Djandjgava was accused of sending an SMS to Gocha Chkheti, her friend from Georgia, about the movement of Russian military vehicles. In 2013, Marina Djandjgava was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment in a penal colony for treason, the "RBC" reports.
