IS claims responsibility for attack in Chechnya

The organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, has claimed responsible for attacking the military camp of the National Guard, as a result of which 12 people were killed and three others wounded. Four days before the attack, a video appeared on the Internet of a meeting of militants-returnees from Syria, members of another terrorist organization, which opposes the IS.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, referring to official data, that last night members of the armed underground attacked the checkpoint of the military camp of the Russian National Guard in the Naur District of Chechnya. Two attackers disappeared, and six were killed. Also, six servicemen were killed, and three others were wounded.

The statement that the IS took responsibility for the attack was published by the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors the online activities of radical organizations.

Let us note here that on March 20 a video was posted on the YouTube “Meeting of Military Jamaat of Ichkeria”, the description of which says that "former fighters of the Jaysh Muhajirin Wal-Ansar unit, who had fought in Syria,” returned to Chechnya.

The "Jaysh al-Muhajirin Wal-Ansar" detachment was formed on the basis of the "Imarat Kavkaz" (banned in Russia, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"); it is led by a Chechen-Kist Feizulla (Paizulla) Margoshvili, also known as Salakhuddin Shishani.
