Date for return of Ingush battalion from Syria announced
On May 10, fighters of the battalion of the military police sent from Ingushetia to Syria will return home. This has been reported today to Yunus-Bek Evkurov by Vladimir Ivanovsky, the head of the Chief Department of the Russian Military Police.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 13, the Ingush leader announced the detachment of the battalion to Syria. Ingush law enforcers were to replace a group of Chechen soldiers and officers sent to Syria in December 2016 and to ensure the security of the aerial group of the Russian military space forces on the military base of Khmeimim, staff members of the Centre for reconciliation of warring parties in Syria, as well as humanitarian missions and cargoes.
On May 10, the battalion will return to Ingushetia, reports the website of the administration of the Ingush leader.
Let us remind you that the authorities claimed that the battalion sent from Ingushetia included fighters who volunteered to take part in the mission. Meanwhile, when the detachment of the battalion from Grozny was organized, according to sources of the "Caucasian Knot", 12 Chechen soldiers were dismissed from service for refusing to go to Syria.
