Court grants complaint filed by father of Gasanguseinov brothers against investigators

Today, the court has ruled that the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) should eliminate the violations committed during the consideration of the complaint filed by the father of the Gasanguseinov brothers, shepherds killed by law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov from the village of Goor-Khindakh were killed on August 23, 2016. Law enforcers claimed that the brothers were militants and opened fire on them. Relatives and fellow-villagers of the Gasanguseinov brothers insist that the brothers were not connected with the armed underground and were ordinary shepherds.

In the court of Makhachkala, the interests of Murtazali Gasanguseinov were represented by Galina Tarasova, a lawyer of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", and Murad Magomedov and Shamil Magomedov, hired advocates from the Dagestan branch of the "Memorial". The advocates fully supported the complaint filed by the Gasanguseinov father.

Investigator Gamdullaev, a representative of the Investigating Department, did not recognize the inaction of the investigators and insisted that a full response was given to the Gasanguseinov's complaint.

As a result, the court has granted the complaint filed by the Gasanguseinov father.
