Rights defenders announce press conference on murder of Gasanguseinov brothers

On March 14, the office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Dagestan plans a press conference on the case of the murder of Gasanguseinov brothers in the village of Goor-Khindakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, residents of the village of Goor-Khindakh, were killed on August 23, 2016, in the Shamil District. Power agents had stated that the Gasanguseinov brothers were involved in the armed underground and were killed in a shootout. However, residents of the village said that the Gasanguseinov brothers had nothing to do with the militants; they were just shepherds. Their parents seek for rehabilitation their honest names.

"The press conference will be attended by brothers’ relatives, journalists and other interested persons; the advocates Murad Magomedov and Shamil Magomedov will talk about the situation with the case," Sirazhudin Datsiev, the representative of the HRC “Memorial” in Dagestan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the press conference will announce new details of the inquiry into the case.
