Six relatives of Imam Khamzat Chumakov detained in Ingushetia

Today, at about 6:00 p.m. Moscow time, on the road in the direction from the "Magas" Airport, law enforcers stopped three cars of escort of Khamzat Chumakov, a well-known Ingush Imam. Meanwhile, Khamzat Chumakov himself was not there.

After a search of vehicles and a personal inspection, six Imam's relatives were brought to the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division). The police explained their detention by violation of the regulations for transportation of smoothbore firearms.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by one of Khamzat Chumakov's relatives detained today that by 9:00 p.m. Moscow time, all of them were released.

"Nothing improper has been revealed. The only thing that distracts us is a whole special operation carried out by the FSB and the Magas GIBDD (road police). When they stopped us, they did not just check our IDs. It looked like a detention. They checked everything, from our socks to the top. Meanwhile, they did not produce any IDs and refused to introduce themselves and inform us where they came from. And everything took place without witnesses. They asked us no questions about Khamzat Chumakov. However, all those actions make us concerned about all that," said a relative of the Imam.
