Azerbaijan can suffer from US attack against Iran
US President George Bush said in his interview on ABC that he did not rule out a military operation against Iran if it did not stop its nuclear researches. Some time ago, the Arabian media reported that the United States was going to attack Iran from three directions: from Iraq, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. The Caucasian Knot correspondent has turned to Azerbaijan political scientists for comments on the issue.
In the opinion of political scientist Zardusht Alizade, it will be a tragedy for Azerbaijan if the country's authorities allow the United States to use Azerbaijan's territory for attacks against Iran. "Iran has enough of modern missile emplacements able to hit any target within the range of 2,000 kilometers, not to mention Baku!" Mr Alizade said.
Political scientist Vafa Guluzade holds that the army of refugees from Iran will inevitably appear in Azerbaijan as a result of the US military intervention in this country.
