Universal demands to allow screening "Fifty Shades Darker" in Vladikavkaz

The “Universal Pictures International” Company incurs losses because of the decision to ban screening of the film in Vladikavkaz, said the Company’s Russian representative office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the screening of the melodrama "Fifty Shades Darker" was cancelled because of complaints in movie theatres of Vladikavkaz.

The Universal Pictures has sent a letter to the government of North Ossetia asking to allow the screening of the movie in the republic.

The letter says that the Universal Pictures suffers losses because of the decision to cancel the screening. The bosses of the Company’s Russian representative office offered a compromise to the Ossetia’s leadership: to revise the earlier approved schedule and appoint sessions of the erotic melodrama for evening hours, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports on February 17.

Pavel Potapov, Screening Director, asserts in the letter that the ban imposed by the republic’s authorities contradicts the decision of the federal agency – the Russian Ministry of Culture, which approved the screening of the "Fifty Shades Darker" all over Russia.
