Georgian women released from South-Ossetian SIZO

Two women-residents of Georgia, who were detained on January 27, have been released from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Tskhinvali after they paid the fine of 2000 roubles each, the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia has reported.

The SSS has explained that the women were detained on January 27 on charges of illegal border crossing.

The women were detained near the village of Balta, Znauri District. "The detainees were two residents of the city of Tbilisi – the 39-year-old Balakhadze, Shorena Nugzarovna, and the 26-year-old Balakhadze, Laura Nugzarovna. They explained that they had violated the state border regime aiming to find better living conditions in South Ossetia," the "Sputnik-South Ossetia" quotes its source from the Frontier Service of the State Security Committee of South Ossetia.

The detainees were set free after paying a fine of 2000 roubles each, the "Georgia Online" has reported today, referring to the SSS of Georgia.
