Movsar Rashidov’s relatives report his kidnapping by power agents

Since January 11, relatives cannot establish the whereabouts of Movsar Rashidov, who had abdicated, in the presence of Ramzan Kadyrov, his son Magomed Rashidov. They suggest that he was kidnapped by power agents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that last night two policemen were killed in the Chechen town of Shali. After the attack, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) was conducted, as a result of which three alleged attackers were killed; and the police have also confirmed that two civilians were wounded. According to the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the killed militants were Yunus Mukaev, Sidik Dargaev and Beshto Emediev, while their actions were commanded by Magomed Rashidov, a native of Shali, who is in Syria for three years as a member of the "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia.

Movsar Rashidov worked as a teacher at the Geography Department of the Chechen State University in Grozny, and then – an employee of the National Ecological-Biological Centre, said his relatives.

They suspect that since January 11 "he is in hands of services, personally controlled by Ramzan Kadyrov." Relatives also believe that "he is under pressure to return to Chechnya his son Magomed, who is in Syria,", the edition named "The Caucasus. Realities" reports today.

The edition asserts, referring to Movsar Rashidov’s relatives and friends, that in 2014 he found his son on the base, where militants were trained in Syria. In spite of all persuasions, Magomed Rashidov refused to return to Russia, and since then made no contacts with his father.
